Loving Jesus, living and sharing our faith, welcoming all.

Transformed by the love of Jesus, we are a community of communities,

a sanctuary where all are welcomed unconditionally.

We are a centre of missionary outreach, to make disciples and serve our city

St Joseph's & St John the Baptist Catholic Churches

The Catholic Parish of East Brighton

Welcome to St Joseph’s and St John the Baptist! We are a vibrant and welcoming Catholic
community in Brighton, with a vision to form disciples of Jesus Christ, to love others, and to serve
our city. We have 3 Masses each Sunday, plus one on Saturday evening, and 2 most weekdays. We are also very much present online, with with live Mass, daily news, on line groups, and resources for use at home.

Social Outreach and Community Building - The Fitzherbert Community Hub

we are now working in partnership with our three co-located grassroots charities, Voices in Exile, Brighton Table Tennis Club and Real Junk Food Project to raise funding and redevelop the parish hall at St John the Baptist, creating a flexible, multi-purpose, socially inclusive Community Hub

Alpha

The current situation offers a great opportunity to use time well, and think about our faith and the
big questions of life. Join our online Alpha, a weekly series, with each week focussed on one of the
big questions – with opportunities for input, discussion, and getting to know like minded people in
our community.

Community

We are a community serving each other and the local area – both with practical support and
befriending. If you feel isolated at home, or need practical  help or telephone advice, or if you can help
us provide this support, our Lightbulb project can help you for free.  Through the project we take referrals from within the parish and from external agencies for the elderly and disabled solving practical problems that really interfere with quality of life.

Alpha

OUR NEXT ALPHA WILL START IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

We are nearing the end of our current joyful Alpha, and starting to plan our next one. We have started to take names, so contact us if you or someone you know could benefit.

We have run five very successful Alphas online, after many in person series, with a mixture of parishioners and people new to our church. Our next opportunity may be in person again. Just let us know if you want to join or talk through.

See our Alpha page, or get in touch and we will answer questions and give you full details

We have 1 or 2 Masses each weekday, and 4 Sunday Masses

Building work is now in full swing on the Fitzherbert Community Hub, going live in September.

During the construction the food bank remains open from within the church, serving 60 to 8o people each week.

Welcome to our new Eastbrighton Catholic Parish YouTube channel. See here or the latest news column to the left for the current Mass video.

Youtube have discontinued the useful feature that enabled developers to automatically make a new video appear here, so we now have to do this manually once each video starts. You may find the latest news column (our newsfeed) shows the current Mass more quickly and more reliably.

You can access all previous videos and wait for our next live session by clicking here for the channel. Mass is streamed lived  at 11am on Sundays and occasionally during the week. We also stream other services and events. Check our news page for details.
