Loving Jesus, living and sharing our faith, welcoming all.
Transformed by the love of Jesus, we are a community of communities,
a sanctuary where all are welcomed unconditionally.
We are a centre of missionary outreach, to make disciples and serve our city
The Catholic Parish of East Brighton
Welcome to St Joseph’s and St John the Baptist! We are a vibrant and welcoming Catholic
community in Brighton, with a vision to form disciples of Jesus Christ, to love others, and to serve
our city. We have 3 Masses each Sunday, plus one on Saturday evening, and 2 most weekdays. We are also very much present online, with with live Mass, daily news, on line groups, and resources for use at home.
we are now working in partnership with our three co-located grassroots charities, Voices in Exile, Brighton Table Tennis Club and Real Junk Food Project to raise funding and redevelop the parish hall at St John the Baptist, creating a flexible, multi-purpose, socially inclusive Community Hub
The current situation offers a great opportunity to use time well, and think about our faith and the
big questions of life. Join our online Alpha, a weekly series, with each week focussed on one of the
big questions – with opportunities for input, discussion, and getting to know like minded people in
We are a community serving each other and the local area – both with practical support and
befriending. If you feel isolated at home, or need practical help or telephone advice, or if you can help
us provide this support, our Lightbulb project can help you for free. Through the project we take referrals from within the parish and from external agencies for the elderly and disabled solving practical problems that really interfere with quality of life.
At this strange time why not take the opportunity to build your faith, explore your faith, or learn more about faith, life, and God from home.
A universally acknowledged and excellent way of doing this – no matter where you are in your faith journey – is Alpha.
We have run two very successful Alphas online, after many in person series, with a mixture of parishioners and people new to our church. We have just started our third Alpha online and there is still time to join.
See our Alpha page, or get in touch and we will answer questions and give you full details
We have 1 or 2 Masses each weekday, and 4 Sunday Masses

the Fitzherbert Community Hub Crowdfunder is now open for your donations!
We have been raising money for this project over the last 2 years and thanks to significant awards from Trusts & Foundations and generous donations from local individual givers, we are ready to start the build phase of the project! However, we now need your support to help us equip and furnish the Hub, so that we can open our doors in 2022 and welcome everyone to this fabulous space!
Please have a look at our Crowdfunder and give what you can! This is your chance to make a massive difference to your community and help tackle food poverty and social isolation head on!
Please support our mission and our running costs
